Welcome! Let's get the ground rules and background out of the way.

• I have about two decades in education. 
• I've been a teacher, a special educator, curriculum writer, professional development facilitator, department chair, and administrator.
• I've worked in suburbs, rural, urban and the suburban/urban (what used to be suburban but is quickly receiving an influx of "city folk" into suburban schools).
• I've done both private and public schools.
• I've won many awards including educator of the year (mostly because I have mastered edu-babble and a high level of self serving jargon...you too can rise through the ranks with the help of this simple tool that turns all your statements into edu-babble- http://www.sciencegeek.net/lingo.html)
•  I work for a HUGE educational system with over 2 dozen high schools and well over 100,000 students from pk-12.
• I am so disillusioned with the educational system/bureaucracy that I have to drink half a bottle of whiskey every night and drink a pot of coffee every morning to do my job...what's worse is education is so full of inadequacy and self congratulatory stuffed shirts even with my chemical self-regulation I am still considered the best in my field.

OK...now that that's out of the way let me share my purpose. There's so much static about education in American that the message gets lost and the truth misconstrued. I want to deliver a first hand semi-daily account of exactly what an administrator, middle manager in a modern high school sees. I'll share the ins and outs of what works, what teachers do and have done to them, teachers do and have done to them, and parents see, do, ignore, and how they are ignored.
